The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; the Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
Numbers 6:24-26
Have you ever heard the song "Light of Your Face" ? It's been in my spirit today. My heart's prayer, my heart's song... oh Lord bless me, and keep me, cause Your face to shine on me...Lord be gracious, lift the light of your countenance, give me peace...for I live only to see Your face, so shine on me...let the light of Your face shine down on my heart, and let me feel it...
Wow! The manifestation of the presence of God is so powerful. Is it arrogant, prideful, or selfish of me to ask the Lord to bless me, keep me, and cause His face to shine on me? Is it presumptuous for me to ask the Lord to let me feel His face shine on me?
It's necessary! Apart from Him, I can do nothing. Besides, it's the desire of His heart. He created me to worship Him. He wants me to draw near to Him so that He can draw near to me. He wants me to desire to sit at His feet, drink from the cup in His hand, lay back against Him and breath, feel His heart beat. I don't know about you, but I can't do it without Him! Do what? I can't do anything without Him! Sure, I can get up everyday, breath in and out, go about whatever "life" throws at me each day, go to bed, and wake up and do the same thing over and over. Yet, this is not fulfilling, not satisfying; it's not real LIFE! He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! Living "life" without Him is impossible because He is LIFE! There is a way that men follow that seems right, but when they reach the end, they find that it only leads to death and destruction. He is Life, and He gives Life to the fullest, till it's overflowing, and in abundance! The Life He is and gives is eternal, everlasting. There is no end to real Life!
Even in the midst of struggle and disappointment, Life prevails because He is my Strength and my Song. There's always hope! I can face each struggle, each difficulty, each trial, each disappointment with strength, faith, and power because His face shines on me and I feel it!
