What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
1 Corinthians 2:9
Our minds cannot fathom all that God has for us. It's impossible to even try to wrap our minds around His goodness and the blessings He has to bestow upon us. He is a gracious God, full of mercy, slow to anger, and eagerly desiring to bless us beyond measure.
I think sometimes, however, I don't always recognize His blessings as such. The last part of this scripture says, "who...gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed." God has already given us so much that even if He never gave us another thing, He has definitely given us more than we deserve. I know that I am sometimes ungrateful. I often "forget" everything that He has done for me because I'm too focused on the thing He hasn't done for me. You know what I mean?
I want to live a life of thankfulness. Rejoice always! Pray without ceasing! Be thankful in everything! For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for me. I am not always so good at this. Yet, I know He has even better things in store for me. I haven't yet seen all the promises of God fulfilled in my life. I know His promises aren't written just to sound pretty and get my hopes up. He will do what He says He will do.
Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]...
Ephesians 3:20
I can do nothing but believe the Word of God! I have no place else to put my trust or my hope. I have to believe that God is Who He says He is, and He will do what He says He will do. I have no where else to go, no one else to turn to. He is my Rock and my Fortress! He is my Deliverer and Redeemer! He is my Beginning and my End! There is none like Him! No one or nothing compares to Him!
