Life, Love, Liberty quote

My life has no semblance to the dreams I had from the time I was 9 years old. I can't find one aspect of LIFE that could even pass as a small interlude in my dreams and plans. Actually, the life I now live is so far removed from the reality of the life I set out in pursuit of in 1991 that it could qualify as a dream. And so, that's what I have - a Dream Life!

Increase DAY 7

Knowledge with understanding is such a powerful thing!  Our knowledge of God, of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit (which ever way you like to say it) is our knowing Him.  What is the typical, most common way to get to know someone?  Here we go - spend time with them!  You knew that, right?  Anytime I ask this question, I always gets this answer.  Absolutely!  We get to know people by spending time with them.  It's no different with God!  We must spend time with Him, listen to Him, "study" Him!

That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition].
Colossians 1:10

I love this scripture!  It is sooooo powerful!  We must INCREASE IN the knowledge of God by INCREASING BY the knowledge of God.  It's like everything else in the Lord - the more you spend in it or operate in it, the more of it you get.  The "it" can be anything, but in this case, we are talking about knowledge.  The knowledge of God increases us in the knowledge of God.  The more knowledge of God we have the more knowledge we want.  Therefore, the more knowledge we get.

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing.  The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you - and more besides will be given to you who hear. For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force].
Mark 4:24-25

In the body of Christ today, we have a lot of people "fat" on the Word they've heard but never digested.  The knowledge of God that probably 90% of believers have of the Lord is only "knowledge" that they have swallowed but never chewed and digested.  Many time, we believers never make knowledge with understanding our own.  We can "spit out" what some preacher, teacher, prophet, evangelist, pastor has told us, but we've never made it our own.  We don't really KNOW it!  We just regurgitate it because it's never actually been digested and ingested!

In order to be fully pleasing to Him, we must increase in the knowledge of Him.  We must get a deeper, fuller, clearer insight to Him and His ways, and we must become better acquainted with Him and better able to recognize Him and His ways.  So many times I hear believers say, "Well I just don't know if it's God or if it's just me!"  Well.........we need to be able to better recognize Him and His ways!  Jesus says that His sheep know His voice.  Do we?

We must INCREASE in the knowledge of Him!  We need to spend more quality time with Him, worshiping, praying, studying, meditating, praising, listening, and dwelling on Him!  Knowledge with understanding is a powerful thing!
